Dr. Steven Sage Hider

Originally from Merced, California, Dr. Steven Sage Hider attended the University of California at Irvine in 1987 to study biology. After obtaining his B.S. Degree in Biological Sciences three years later, Dr. Hider pursued his doctorate program of optometry at the University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry.

As part of his studies in optometry, Dr. Hider obtained an internship at the Western Blind Rehabilitation Center in Palo Alto, California as well as at the Atlanta Surgery Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hider received his Doctorate Degree in Optometry in 1994. He joined Dr. Cheung and Dr. Cormier's practice in November of the same year. Dr. Hider practice emphasizes family vision care, contact lenses, low vision and he is also licensed under therapeutics to diagnose and treat different eye diseases.

Dr. Hider is active in community volunteer work. He has been a member of the Atascadero Kiwanis since 1995 and is the president-elect for 1998-1999. Dr. Hider is also a member of the Rotary Club in San Luis Obispo. Besides service clubs, Dr. Hider enjoys working with the Boys Scouts of Pack 150 at San Gabriel Elementary. He still finds time to serve in the Atascadero Recreation Center Committee and as an ambassador for the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Hider personal interests centers on camping, classic car (he is awfully proud of his 1965 Classic Mustang), and traveling.
